Arellano Christmas Party

It has been a tradition in my mother's side of the family to celebrate the birth of the Lord on its eve. Everyone of my mother's siblings and their family (my cousins) gather at one of our Aunt's home to be together and be merry. We always start with a prayer of thanksgiving for the food we will all share. Eating time is always, always a blast since we are a family who loves food and most especially loves to eat. Anyone could see it in our sizes haha! After dinner we gather up and have some games both for adults and children as well. And when everyone is perspiring, tired and hungry again...we gather up for more desserts! Then an hour before midnight we get all our gifts and start with gift giving. By midnight we all eat the family's tradition food, what we all call "lelot" (arroz caldo or chicken rice soup). It has been a family tradition passed from our grandparents to our parents and now to us. By 1am on Christmas day we again gather to start enjoying the booze each of us brought.

Here with my nephew Enzo ( I just gave him a 50 peso bill). For 3 years now I have been assigned to be the Santa Clause of my big family. Nobody would take on the task of being the host, game master and Santa Clause....so when one of my cousins volunteered me for the job, I head on took it and its been now a tradition that I do my job during our party. its not really a job right?! Its for the love of family and merry making.

As the family's Santa, I have the priviledge of collecting funds from my Mom and Aunts to give away to the children in the family. Even grown up nephews fall in line to receive money! haha!

This year we started with the monito/monita theme for gift giving. I received a brown bag and gave away a set of scented soaps to my Tita Baby. Everyone received well thought of gifts and gave beautiful one too.

Next year will be another Christmas blast with lots of cousins, food, gifts, booze and all those catching up! Oh and maybe next year, I'll be able to get myself a santa costume ;)

Hope Im not tooooooooooooooooooo late with the greetings. Had a very hectic schedule second week of December up until after the New Year. Year end bazaars and lots of family gatherings, an all cousin trip to Baguio City, and lastly family budget meeting for the year 2009.

Why do I consider these my bazaar best sellers?

...they have been sold out in all the bazaars my cousin and I joined. More so, I still get orders left and right. Doing them brought so much fun, therapy indeed!

My Bag Charms

I use different kinds of beads from hand painted ceramic beads, glass beads, majorca pearls, native beads to plastic beads in all shapes and colors. I retail them at Php 60 per piece. They are found in all the bazaars that Creative Outlet joined. One of my best sellers to date, these bag charms are labor intensive. That's why I often tell my buyers that I made each piece with a lot of love and perseverance.

Mobile Phone Charms for Psorphil's Anniversary

It all seem that I'm always always busy with beading, joining bazaars and selling my works of art. It certainly is not the case. Though it looks like I'm always thinking of beading and the like, I also think of my psoriasis family....my online group Psorphil. The people behind the group are always in my mind and heart.

It was sad that I wasnt able to join my "family" with the recently concluded Psorphil Anniversary, NPPC Symposium and Fellowship Night, World psoriasis Day Funwalk 2008, Psorsports 2008 and PsoReach for the Elderly. The different activities were celebrated in about a week last month. Though I wasn't there to be with them physically, I was definitely with them in mind and heart. I longed for the pictures of the events to come out in the members' individual web accounts. It was a joy to look at the pictures and read their different comments on each picture.

Though I was not there, I made sure that a part of me is physically there with all of them. I made a couple of cellphone charms for the members who participated at the WPD Funwalk 2008. Below are the pictures my husband Din took before I gave them the charms.



I hoped everyone who got one liked it 'cause I enjoyed making them. I hope to be with the group in next years' round of activities.

Bazaar Caravan

Here are the different bazaars Creative Outlet signed up for.

First stop will be this coming weekend, October 11 and 12 at the Shekinah Christian Training Center, this will be a bazaar and garage sale benefit for the students of Shekinah. This event will help fund the very talented students of Shekinah who will be chosen to join the annual convention.

Second stop will be at the Delicacies Village of Tiendesitas at Pasig City on October 25 and 26 from 11am-11pm. This will be the third stint of Creative Outlet at Tiendesitas. My cousins and I have made so many friends during our first and second bazaars....hopefully we will be able to see them again plus of course their extended friends and relatives.

Third stop will be at the Paskong Pilipino Bazaar at the World Trde Center, Roxas Blvrd. on November 7 - 9 from 9am - 7pm. This will be our first time to join such a big bazaar. And we are very excited on how would we be able to fare at such big event as this. By far, this is a dream come true for Creative Outlet. My cousin Lia and I have been dreaming of joining this bazaar since last year and it was just only now that we had the guts to say 'yes', we will do it! Cross your fingers for us...lets all have a goooooooood time!

Fourth stop will be at the Shekinah Christian Training Center again! Yes, we will be spending yet another two days with the students, teachers and parents on November 13 and 14. It will be be a fun filled day for everyone. Busy busy busy day for all!

Last stop will be at the Valle Verde 5 Christmas Bazaar on December 13 and 14 at 1030am - 1030pm. This will be Creative's second VV5 bazaar. We made good last year and we are hoping to make the best this year.
